Like Nothing Happened

Every day we passed through together and every night

Our love grew greater and became so tight.

Your words, your eyes made all of that seem so right

And my heart beats always went with yours in a fight.

 

Each vow was inked on each willow tree leaf

Like its telling them about our belief.

But You forgot that they say goodbye one day

People step on each vow and no one say hey .

 

They stepped on every love we drew on night

And each leaf cried for what was left behind.

Each Catkin tree knew the story of us

And how they sat still and never make fuss.

 

Just because one day we were one soul 

Doesn't mean that we can't be apart.

But what was between us died and was buried

And we walk by each other like nothing happened .

I love this piece very much. I don't like to be a critic but erase the 's' from beat in the fourth stanza so it would be more smooth. Other than that this is touching and emotional and beautifully written.
