A Poem by Hermione

Things of nature will pay you back in kind
when it all moves so fast, and those who
never look can never see
beyond the sun
underneath what will be
sand one day, yes I will
speak, and I will never stop
iron bones are mine
and I am not afraid
of those who stay in season
who are never those with reason
it all goes so fast, one day
it will become the past
a thousand steps these
feet shall see,
a thousand words
will fall upon these ears
but this heart, this heart
should know no fear
and in selfishness
one is bound
when immersed in yourself
you are never free
but,love is not without hands
pure as it may be
so look, if you can stand it
everything will find its way
as if you'd always planned it
I won't follow, as if I could
to darkness, I won't
but among the lights,
you can find me
and shine, just as small
one is always better
better than none at all
so please, even if it makes you bleed
patience goes farther than your reach
The echo of sin, is heavy
under the skin, like dirt
And I will not be made filthy
And the audience gives you
advice on how not to be
but why listen?
And it drains, to see all
it takes, to never stop
but the ocean of the selfish
leads only to the river of pain
and myself, I have forgotten how to sink
so I guess I can't complain
