The Mathematics of Self Persuasion

I wonder what the deal is---
With you and me
So close but beyond my reach
We've been here before but now another's got me
You are a blessing I love to tease
We are alike in that manner of reciprocity
Like a mathematical equation gone awry
You and me are incomplete, like the X longing for the plus Y
But it's fun playing hookie with my minus N—
No good and got me off track
But feeds my jones for the comfortable and the "known" to no end
I will find my way back to you with discipline
But until then, I'm chasing problems that have no solutions
Equations that have no rhyme nor reason and go on with no end
