The Food Queen

The Food Queen

A Poem by Sue
"

I wrote this for both myself and all those who have battled or are still battling with issues around food.....

"

Embattled body, claws more in

Nothing but a constant fight

Mealtimes no longer

Savour or delight

Can’t risk the thought of heart attack

Nor furry arteries, clogged veins

Cholesterol jumps at every turn

No joy in eating remains

Taste buds tainted with greed

No nourishment ever gained

Returning to days of junky tartar

Where sanity never reigned

Release your hold so tight

Don’t need a fragile heart

Just health and wholeness

A fresh new start

(For all those who battle with food issues)
