ContrastA Poem by suchitra sarmah
The tides of ocean keep playing with me in my dreams
But I have never seen any in real What do my dreams entail then May be far away someone shouts my name in ocean And that may be someone lives in an island wishing for me to come But I am rather a river kind I find oceans as some forlorn dreamer I love proceeding forward with definite destination though the destination controlls me Still the roads I take to reach there are my choices I am habituated to shrink but not turning back And the tides of ocean ebb away at noon But still sometimes the destination attracts after all the ocean is the forefather of all my rivers © 2014 suchitra sarmah |
