UntitledA Poem by Kaitlyn StoneAny suggestions for titles are welcome!after I decided to leave you said don't you know how much a break up takes a toll on your soul? how much it tears it apart?
but that's the difference between you and me and the ways we see the rest of the world you think the soul is built of hand-made blocks stacked and arranged to create elegant halls and walls to hang memories upon with doors that open only to a select few and I see the soul: a muscle that tears but heals stronger than before and after I am gone you'll see that the first cut may be the deepest but you'll stretch across oceans and boarders and find that I am a stone you once picked up along the riverside and pocketed me in the fabric over your heart where I found material warmth and yet, I didn't belong there where the sun was hidden and I no longer could feel the current of the creek rush over me, but instead the thrumming of a heartbeat with blood that did not flow like the water I thirsted for
and now that I have left I say to you, don't let me make you stone cold just as I couldn't let you chisel and shape me to fit inside your castle © 2012 Kaitlyn Stone |
