Chronophobia

Chronophobia

A Poem by Kaitlyn Stone

a black widow

lives within

my room    she spins

her silk while I dream

spirals of silver

hidden in the dark

she spreads her net

across the corner

on cracked concrete

and she'll dangle

from a thread

turning her bloody

hourglass upside down

she makes meals

of memory     feasts

on fear     thirsts

for thoughts of doubt

and regret"a fanged mouth

spread open to snatch

a taste of that red rain

waiting for her next

catch

to squirm in her strands

and succumb

to a silent death
