Drinking England

Drinking England

A Poem by Subversive Reality
"

England on the weekend = ?!

"

Doubled up and throwing up,
There you see,
Why our nation is hated

Or pitied, By those who know

Only our foreign performance
Or the same that we ply

In the streets on a Friday

The liquid discussion
That goes without saying
At end of the day
And after our toil
Which ends in dismay

A morphine molasses
Born such as
The opium
For the great masses
That drink and forget
Our trouble in play

Brought to night
And decrying the slight
That was never a plight
For we had already
That which we would
Serve ourselves,
But for a glass of white

Subversive Reality
Not saying I don't, just saying I think we get a bit carried away.
