Ignorant Rulers

Ignorant Rulers

A Poem by Subversive Reality

You talk of tapestry, sewn or painted,
Orated in blind eye rhetoric
And appraise the soundscape
With deaf ear drums
Punctured by pins
Of selfish noise

The sharp sting of batons,
Truncheon to a chestnut
Wrecking ball to a sapling,
Or daisies trodden under toes
Of steel capped thug
Bearing Saxon brutality
There is no place for you
Yet still you gain hearts,
Still you win votes,
Still you lead us

Author's Note

Subversive Reality
There have been many great leaders, but I haven't seen a truly great one in my lifetime, certainly not in Britain.
