Bridge

Bridge

A Poem by Kara Hadley
"

bad things happen when no one is looking. -enjoy-

"

A bald man jamming on his guitar

and the constant parade of people,

Has brought my dyslexia to an all time high.

People ride by on rented bikes.

A woman too tall with a dress too short

struts by, accompanied by a fashionable man.

They are laughing and playing their word games.

What about us?

Accosted by men.

Who is protecting the sheep

from the foreign wolves?

Not you, its clear.

A collegiate passes ruffians

dining on the dock.

Eating sandwiches and soup

from home-brought bowls.

He scoffs at the youngsters,

I scoff at the woman pretending to be candid.

Birds steal bread that people forgot

and the bald man jams on.

THERE'S A LOT OF IMAGERY IN THIS VERSE AND LOTS OF EVENTS GOING ON IN THE VERSE FROM ONE THING TO ANOTHER AND THE SHOW JUST GOES FROM THERE...AND YET THROUGH IT ALL THE BALD MAN JAMS ON...
