A Tender Age

A Tender Age

A Poem by Kara Hadley
"

God sees the sparrow fall. -enjoy-

"

A sparrow:
brown and soft and Broken
Does God see this baby fall?

small wet wings; a tender age,
pushed out of the nest;
shaky, quiet, scary nest;
by one known as Mother.
Father gone; hardly mentioned.
caring by creation:
C and E parenting.

Can this baby fly?
A stomach in nots.
from roller coaster lurches;
whiplash.

water dries and Baby flies.
taking burdens
flying away; a tender age,
quiet. Never looking back.

Wings get weighted
a time too many,
But baby flies; and drops and flies.

Where has her warm nest gone?
God, do you know?
Do you see what's happened?
To baby, sweet and soft Baby.

Very "coming of age"! I really enjoyed the structure and flow of this poem. Good job!
