Loss of Words

Loss of Words

A Poem by James Reader

It's menacing the way it ebbs and flows.
The way time seems to come and go.
We lose ourselves in sands of time.
It's weary the way dulls the mind.

I find myself at a loss of words.
As time drags on they return to me.
Helping to find the poet inside of me.
The words were lost I played life's game.

It's struggle and strife it's fire and ice.
It's joy it's pain it's longing in vain.
These are the trials of a man insane.
Please won't you please watch me try again.

I like it. A man who has been temporarily 'lost' by playing life's game but now - even though it feels insane - wants a chance to try again.
