Dreams of The Heart

Dreams of The Heart

A Poem by James Reader

Dreams of the Heart...
My dreams of her are my secret.
I wonder how long she may keep it.
Though through the years they may have wained. Still they linger within our brains. Thoughts of us and visions turned to dust. It's so battered and beaten our broken trust. still the thoughts are lost deep inside i keep them sheltered from prying eyes. I will not admit them and neither will you. We keep them locked up and hidden from view. We have grow apart and spread out wing. Yet here we are with our broken dreams. Committed to lives that were our choice. How did we lose our only voice. We've made mistakes and broken hearts. Yet still we dream and remain apart. My thoughts of you are sinful at best. How I long to hold you against my chest. Now I know it's wrong and judge me if you must. Yet here I stand and confess it's for you that I lust.
