Tempermental Beauty

Tempermental Beauty

A Poem by Tony

Please don’t stand so close.

If you must linger at all.

It’s obvious, you’re not a gardener,

The grass is dry, the weeds are tall.

These thorns I’ve raised to keep you back,

My task needs no distraction.

At my feet your greens, invade my space,

It’s your ignorance, sir, your inaction.

And furthermore, just spare me.

Your poetry, and prose.

It’s just so lame in comparison,

Too me, the fragrant Rose.

the rose represents and triggers so much in every poet...just like mother nature - she can be tender and soothe as well as cast a cloud and overwhelm...to love them is to not try to place logic in heart...
