Terrebonne

A Poem by Tony
"

a compilation of 10,000 thoughts

"

How many times can we let it pass...

Going with the flow in shame.

We've always had.....the gift of sight,

And now it's time too use it.

Holding all the wealth and power in your hands

On your golden throne, you sit.

But no matter what we sacrifice.

You exploit us and abuse it.

Time after time, over and again, I see your clever cycle.

In your audacity you can no longer hide.

Your arrogance will trap you, you have no authority..

This score will be settled.... outside.

Beautiful Carbon based life-forms, in a perfectly balanced place.

Standing in Awareness and in Awe beneath the stellar lights.

Psychotic intelligent creatures, Hate and Envy twist our face.

With smoke and mirrors we will make you blind.

Logic and Reason are my weapons of choice.

Furious and incorruptible, we seek you out in anger.

Send your cowardly demons and your stupid machines,

To pain and fear we are no strangers.

Part of the solution or part of the problem, there is no common ground.

In accepting our guilt, we gain the tendencies we need.

As your heart beats the hours away, know you are participating,

With your power or your excuses, It is your choice you see.....

We cannot continue to habitate,

In a 'comfort zone' of disease and fear.

Time has become a formidable enemy.

Wake up, the storm is here.

Do not feel alone in your fear of what's outside.

No human lives free of hesitation.

Travelling to unknown places, our bags are full,

Of our expectation and reservations.

Gather in your convenience, the world belongs to you.

Contemplate the choices, more simple than you know.

There is history sufficient, to realize our errors,

Conquer Fear and gain Imagination, and grow.

There is no convenience, in screwing our neighbors and friends.

It takes a village to destroy a child.

Consumption and addictions, the chains that hold us facing the machine.

We pretend we are not thus defiled.

When all the convenience is gone, and the nights are dark and cold.

Survivors share what they have with friends.

Faith, Hope and Love thrive when things go wrong.

Light will drown the darkness, and the cycle will start again........

Remarkable piece, truly!
Politicians have never held the answers to the problems at hand. They all claim to know how to fix things with their "brave new change" and "audicity to hope" but we are reminded yet again that men really have no power to change anything, much less the true will. The new president of the U.S. is a perfect example. He managed to convince enough folks that he held the keys to moral responsibility and transparency. And yet we've already seen that his administration is even more corrupt and secretive than the one before. Those he's chosen to surround himself with are more dishonest and irresponsible than any we've ever seen. Most of the current adminstration should be in jail for tax fraud and only paid their taxes so they would be confirmed for their elitist positions.
I don't understand why the world continues to look to other men to lead them to peace. Even those who claim to sit at God's right hand consider it appropriate and acceptable to kill innocent others to prove their god is more benevolent and loving than the god of others. I don't understand how lighting your underpants on fire with the intent of blowing up an airplane for example is pleasing to God. Oddly, even those who do such things are not able to explain it either.
Peace and respect for others will come. But not from politicians. There is only one true source and that source does not lie or cheat or kill innocent thousands to prove His holiness.

And I thought you only wrote stories..Fooled me you did.
This is a great read and you touched down on so many "thoughts", which themselves could spin off into their own piece. Through all the chaos and hoopla, you let us know, good will prevail. Yes, it always does.. Great write!!

Very emotive and very dark, until the end. I love the intriguing title too. It might be a compilation of 10,000 thoughts, but it is very direct and succinct :)
