Causes of Revolution

Causes of Revolution

A Story by Tony
"

This is expressly for my friend, Bunny Nabber. But all Americans should read it.

"

I have this friend over in Sonora. He is an old man and very, very intelligent.

Once we had a conversation:

Here in Mexico, said Julio, Corn tortillas, cooking oil, and beans are quite inexpensive.

Yes, I said, I know this too be true.

But do you know why? He asked.

Not really.........I replied.

Because the government does not like Revolution...........

Perhaps North Americans could learn something from this tiny piece of Philosophy.

Your friend has got it right. Besides, food is our primary need! Without food we are nothing ... Everything is built on food! If you want people to develop, make sure they have food ... With a full stomach, they will be strong enough to build a house. (our secundary need) With a roof over their head, they have security in a place they can call home and privacy (our tertiary need) so they have time to themselves in order to do whatever they want: get an education, devote their time to passtimes and so on!
Yes, Julio is a very smart man!

From the wisdom I found in your writing and the rise in the price of food I am concluding that we are expecting some sort of revolution...oh, I remember now that fast food is cheap, keeping so many people fat and unhealthy, I don't think they will be joining the revolution...

It has been the basis of the British cheap food policy since the 16th. Century.
Another note: When the French threatened to be coming over the Channel, Pitt reduced the price of Gin.

Hummm! So much true and yet .....We are currently experiencing many riots in various parts of the world, as if we have never learned any lesson! We need to be reminded the causes of the great upheavals of the XXth Century, maybe!? Anyway, thank you for this very effective piece of writing!

yep,
the sun, your stomach and the beauty of the unraveling moment, we work our entire lives away in bludgeoning 8 hr segments that rape our mentality the other sixteen just to get the chance to savor it.
worst catch 22 of all that encompasses all the rest of them.

I never got it, in school why dont they teach home building like math and reading starting from kindergarten, imagine the change in society? Teach practices good for the area, cob building in dry places, adobe in new mexico, bamboo builds on the islands.

Parents gifting their kids a small plot of land at 18 as custom, the government sending out basic seed packets such as tomatoes that any idiot can grow instead of draft tickets, head off the draft with your fingers in the soil, your eyes in the clouds. Our complications angled in a zillion ways to spear us as we run at them, hands over eyes, squealing "gimmee!!"

also:
I know this too/sp? be true.
to?

Julio is wise, as are you mr. Eyes Open, much much respect.

Julio is right, and I'm afraid that our own government will learn this in the hardest possible way, probably within my lifetime, or my daughter's, in the least. Thank you for sharing, Tony.
