This is one of my many unusual theories.

12.8.12

It was wierd how it all ended. Some of us thought that a giant rock the size of San Diego or so would come hurtling through empty space and smash into the earth. Rendering all of our silly little problems null and void. Others thought it would be catastrophe caused by a large series of earthquakes and volcanoes. Actually it was more bizarre than that.

In the last days the cities required massive amounts of electricity to run. The Digital World was hungry for power and technology, and the producers began to take shortcuts in the production process, to keep up with demand. This proved to be our downfall.

It began in the early morning hours of December 8, 2008. Everyone began to go insane. The pulses of electromagnetic energy had slowly married themselves to the biological lifeform known as man. And when the dangers of all those computers, phones and TVs was realized, it was too late. The gray matter had been compromised in a totally unforseen way. And the result was a complete shutdown of every human computer on the planet. Unless you lived away from urban areas most of the time and had not been infected by the electromagnetic radiation. Like me.

Me and my cousin sat on a rock 12 miles up on the mountain and watched it go down with a telescope. It was incredible. The people had lost their minds but were still functioning in the animal sense. For three days the world was awash in a fiesta of lust and blood and fire.

And on the third day, the missiles began to fly overhead.

In the months following, the weakened atmosphere admitted radiation from the sun, and that killed the rest of us.....................

I know most of my theories can probably be questioned fundamentally. I don't care. It's just a theory.

Hm... I always thought (since your planet is... well... full of greedy power hungry maniacs) that one day, you'd use up all of your unrenewable resources. (i spelled it wrong. I know) THen everyone, would start fighting over them, and eventually you'd kill each other off... Just because you started fighting over something so simple. *shakes head* tsk tsk.

I loved the right. Liked the theory. Really think that it'd be something that could actually happen. So... Yeah, congrats! ... on a great write. *bows*

I don't know about technology making me insane, but it certainly controls me, such as 'having' to write on the computer in every spare moment! Apart from when it breaks down - and that is the worst thing these days, whether it be a computer or a car or the TV. Having been nursed by these things through childhood and adulthood, it would certainly be a scary prospect to do without them now!

In deed unusual! The topic is to me not so original compared to you other astounding other writings. Yet. it is not void of interest knowing that the whole world has gone into a frenzy of rearmament, talking only of Asia..........

(Is it supposed to be 2008 or 2012 in there?)

Haha... This is kind of crazy, but I'm sure you know that already. It makes me laugh that the first 8/10ths are so detailed, and last bit is a little meh.
But I like it.

What the future holds? Scary to think that this could become reality one day. An excellent write, my friend!

It was short, but still a good read.

This reminds me of the Mayan Prophecies, you know. I'm sure you're aware of them. I tend to think that there are so many ways in which our world can end that it will simply depend on which one happens first. ;) Good theory, though. It would be fascinating yet terrible to watch, if you weren't as effected immediately.
