drowningA Poem by onlytemporary
I can feel myself beginning to drown in you. My lungs are empty and I need the soft exhale of your breath as we kiss to keep me alive. I am a tiny ship in the sea of you and the more I get to know you the higher the waves get and I didn't prepare for rough waters, I never do. I want your love to consume me. Replace these dark thoughts with the beautiful image of your smiling face, silence the voices in my head with the swell of your laughter. I want my head to be filled with nothing but you. I want the sight of your sleeping form pressed against this cold body, breathing and heartbeat perfectly in time with my own to be the last thing I see. These moments, these times when we are both so vulnerable, so soft and so gentle, are the moments I want to last forever. Those are the moments when it feels like time stops almost completely.
