2-16-2017A Poem by onlytemporary
One day, you will wake up, and that pain will be gone. That ache in your chest will subside and the tears in your eyes will dry. I know right now the pain feels endless, and you choke on your sobs like you're trying to swallow a handful of nails. These tears feel like acid on your cheeks and I know it hurts. Darling, one day you'll wake up and the sun will be shining so bright that it'll hurt your eyes and you'll be laughing so hard your chest will burn and you'll be gasping for air and you'll be so happy because it's no longer the breaking of your heart that's causing this wheezing. There will be days though, that it will seem like you've taken more steps backwards than you have forward, and that's okay because just like broken bones, a broken heart doesn't heal in a day. Promise me you'll hold on, because you are beautiful, your laughter like music, so magnificent even deaf people can hear it. You are a garden, blooming with flowers in colors that the world has yet to see. Take your time, take baby steps towards that finish line. You will make it there and it will be beautiful. You will find someone that will love you so much you'll forget you were ever hurt and I know right now you feel so lonely, and you just want to feel whole again. You are trying to put puzzle pieces into these empty spaces that just don't fit, but you are so cold and lonely. You just want the emptiness to fade. Someone out there is doing the exact same thing as you. Trying to hug people made of broken glass and wondering why you just keep getting hurt. They just want to give someone the world. They are searching for someone like you, and when you meet, your scars will match so perfectly it will seem as though you've known each other forever and you will spend the entire night putting each other back together with shaky hands, and darling it won't be perfect, but you will finally feel complete again.
