Poisons

Poisons

A Chapter by John Stussy

He takes many poisons
To retain his sanity,
All the while ranting
Of the flaws of humanity.
Behind his humor
He takes refuge
To hide what lies
Beneath the ruse.
Is anything left
In the smoldering husk?
Perhaps his life
Has reached its dusk.
But soon the lad
Is gonna fall,
And what will happen then?
Which poison will own
His dying breath?
He doesn't care,
It doesn't matter,
As long as he takes
As many as he can,
As long as no one
Sees the corpse within
Until the mask
Is burned without.

Wow, I love this. It's so honest and quite blunt. Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad you enjoyed this poem pretty lass. :)
This hurts, feels very honest. The last four lines were perfect

Alcohol only numbs the pain for a while causing it to become bigger eventually. Nice work.
