Alone But Not Forever So

Alone But Not Forever So

A Poem by John Stussy
"

For/About a friend. I miss her...

"

You ran beside this growling wolf,

Put up with his grumbling and stubbornness.

The friendship we shared was a tender one,

Something never taken for granted.

But now that our paths are separate,

I am again alone, of my own choice.

None can take the place of the panther

Who was there when I'd not let anyone close.

Now that we keep this silence

I keep you also in your place in my heart,

Dear friend and trusted companion to me.

For now I'll walk this chilled forest,

Alone, but not forever so.

If you return I will welcome you readily.

:) I like this very much- and i shall explain why. Firsly, i like the feeling of the poem as i read it. It gives me a sense of peace, and the second time i read it, i felt like someone was reading it to me, very slowly.

"For now I'll walk this chilled forest," makes me feel like i am one of your animals in this piece, padding through my feet across the ground and through the trees.

I think this is very beautiful :)

I'm so great at reviews...but I'll give it a shot.
I like how this flows...its not choppy like a lot of poems I've read. I also like how you use metaphors, thats something i've never been able to do. I really liked it :)
