Stay With Me, Sway With Me

Stay With Me, Sway With Me

A Poem by John Stussy
"

Just a random slow dance poem that came to me before I fell asleep. Enjoy the fruits of my blasted insomnia haha...

"

Please stay with me, sway with me,

On this make-shift dance floor.

Perfection is no reality

But these moments with you

Come oh so close to that word.

So softly the music binds us,

An understanding only those dancing

In this manner can fully attain.

Those minutes spent enchanted by you

Ensnare my memories when we are apart.

Wherever I am my thoughts turn to you,

And of course, a smile graces my lips.

I wonder… are you smiling as well?

Is your expression akin to the one you had

As we danced away the time together?

With all my being, I wish it is so.

Even now I lay wide awake

Wishing to live such a dream again.

On our make-shift dance floor,

Please stay with me, sway with me.

Ah! It sounds like a soft chanting Frank Santra song....the title alone seduced me to come and read. Needless to say, I loved it. Your romantic words are always purely poetic. So beautiful. I can't say enough. I can see you as a poet version of Nicholas Sparks. I have probably told you that once before.......

jeezes :)

This is .... romantic ... sweet ... it is ... quite perfect indeed.
I love the way you expressed your feelings, and while reading it, the poem comes alive.
It makes you wanna dance, move your body, it makes you long for a dance partner, which i can clearly tell you're longing for too.

I hope you find that somebody to dance with you on your make-shift dancefloor :)

I love dancing, so naturally I love this poem. Such a sweet and melodic tune runs through my mind as I read this. It reminds me of the song Sway With Me. I don't know who it's by, but I put this poem to the tune of that song. Very beautiful.
