Contemplator of a Rose

Contemplator of a Rose

A Poem by John Stussy
"

The half-closed eyelids

And the simple cotton clothes

Belie the magnificence

Of this darling young dame.

Her hidden brown eyes

Glint with true understanding

Of the surrounding world,

Nothing hides from her mind.

Softly, sweetly shall she murmur

Her thoughts aloud on full pink lips,

Contemplating a peach-colored rose

Which seems grey beside her visage.

I’ll stay here at a distance,

Admiring the sight in total awe

Whilst the beautiful poetess

Continues her peaceful contemplation.

Gracious, what cooks up in that mind of yours I'll never know.
Sufficient to say, this rendered me speechless, I was not expecting to see something like this, such beauty and homely splendour (I like the rose the best, it is so much more graceful than can be imagined!) Indeed, this was a beautiful suprise, and I am flattered, honored, the whole nine yards, this is just too special for my paltry words. Thank you, again.
