Dancing Divinity

Dancing Divinity

A Poem by John Stussy
"

Just an image that came to me, inspired by Shakira's song Hips Don't Lie.

"
Red and yellow covers her body,
Masking the shape of each sensual curve
That swells against the colored cloth.
She's crossing the dance floor,
Dominating it, making it without a doubt
Known to all there it's her territory.

A hip sway, a twist of her body,
The song takes a physical form
Through her every passionate move.
All watch, awestruck and hypnotized
By the dancing maelstrom
Taking everyone's breath and hearts.

Such a dancing divinity as her
Comes around once in a rare time,
Able to make the music more alive,
More vibrant than ever before.
Fiery, feisty brown eyes glint bright
In the flames of the club lights.

No, her hips don't lie when they show
The amazing woman she really is,
Dancing into the night foreverlong
It's quite apparent she's all that exists
In the eyes of the onlookers
And in the music's all-encompassing wake.

She is the music.

As a dancer myself, I loved this sweet poem on the hypnotic hip actions of the dancer John....I like the tune, just perfect....somehow when a dancer feels the beat, her movements get everyone on their feet....she owns the tune just as you describe in the final line....I love the latino language too....Great job John....keep on observing the heat on the street...smiling at you, Tai

One of the sexiest songs I know of- and damn that Shakira and them hips just make a man drop to him knees and pray because there is a Goddess! Those hypnotic hip moves are sure what she is known for, man, have you seen the music video? The way she moves it's hard even for me to keep my eyes off the way she moves. It flows to the music and damn, she's just so sexy! haha! But I'm impressed with this, super exotic and sexy, but of course I kept my cool throughout the whole thing...Lol!

A good poem I enjoyed reading it. I felt like I was watching the video to the song. I always enjoy watch Shakira dance. The voice you use to describe the dance and flow of how she moved made me feel like I was beside you watching her dance up close and in real life. Very fun.

When a dancer becomes the music, and the music becomes the dancer that sway across the floor, that is a truly wonderful experience. The swaying and the hip action, the passion and the sultry voice are both just hypnotic and breathtaking... Great word choice, great flow...and the music was a good addition. A fun piece for sure!

Heh, it really does describe the music video incredibly well.
I'm not a huge fan of Shakira, but I thought it was not bad. ;)
Well done.
