Society's Lessons

Society's Lessons

A Poem by John Stussy
"

A madman gains his revenge for the way he was treated.

"

Slip and slide into the unknown,

Come with me dear children.

Today I’ll show you what it’s like

To gain a … Erm, new perspective.

We’ll take a spin down into the dark,

Explore these unexplored regions.

Come with me dear children,

Let’s see what waits within.

Within this gaping maw

Of a machination you have

Stored within your darkest mind

To hurt the ones you love.

Why would you do that?

Because it’s your nature,

You’ll grow up to hurt,

To banish the freaks of society!

Children, dear children,

Please stand in a line.

Here’s the place I wanted

To expose you to.

Look down into that deep black hole

And marvel at its lack of being.

Nothing survives in the end,

No kindness, no fairytale endings.

Stand tall, my little… minions.

My students, you shall learn my creeds.

There is a price for you to pay,

A reason these doors are locked.

Your parents banished me for what I am,

Different than them in my thinking.

No-one will hear your screams,

Time to learn the lessons your parents taught me.

A pissed off piper of the worst kind then John?lol this was quite scarey to read, the typeface adds to the darkness of the contents. Yes society needs to think before we cast out those who don't fit into their tight boxes because these guys and gals are out here, just waiting!!!lol I scared myself then!lol grinning at you, Tai, scaredy p***y

Stephen King's "IT" - that is the first thing that came to mind when I read this, and that was a creepy f-n book.

I mean that in a good way too.

Well written as all good poems and stories are - written from an unknown place.

Well done!!

Wow, revenge really is bittersweet. It was a lovely piece, full of visionairy, wonderful plots, and great expression. I really admire this piece, because it's true. People sometimes will do these sort of things, just for the taste of revenge. Great job!
