Nectar of Sin

Nectar of Sin

A Poem by John Stussy
"

Absinthe

"

Pour my poison,

Fill my globe

With the brilliant green

Nectar sweet within.

The sugary spade

Hangs above the lips

Of the ever-waiting glass

With purity dipping down.

Ah, the sensational mixture

Of chastity and sin!

Sweetness blends

With the toxic burn!

Gaze upon it,

Feel its gaze,

The look of darkness

That reflects oneself

As I prepare this sacrament

To this unholy fluid.

Mixing it round and round,

I lift this chalice of sin to my lips.

Behold the change

Within my mind!

Softly Hell beckons

With delectable taste.

Within the doomed corners of my head

I feel the certainty that I am dead.

I wanted to taste the sweetness within

That wonderful nectar of sin.

Hell hath never burned so flamingly

With the tongues of damned vixens caressing me.

Just wanted to write a piece about that drink. It's okay I suppose, could be better if I experienced it first hand.

No it wouldn't be better if you experienced it firsthand John! Good grief. Not there aren't some who I'd gladly offer drink to, you are definitely not one of them.

You weave an interesting write here about the dangers of being enticed and how even as we know we're about to do something potentially dangerous sometimes the lure is more seductive than the knowledge of the inevitable doom which will follow. I like this one I lot. :)

Though technically from what I've head Absinthe is legal to purchase in the US again. It's not as potent or dangerous a mixture as before but I hear it's still a pretty amazing drink. Not that I'm trying to tempt you to try any. heh

I drank Absinthe a few times. All it did was make me feel drunk.

There's fresh imagery and word choice in this poem, and it's also visually appealing.

Woh, truly a powerful drink to ease the mind of many things! Very creatively composed, and liked the structure of everything here. Very powerful words. Although, i have never drunk any of this 'magic potion' hehe; the strongest liquor ive tasted was a Black Russian. Yea, my ex-lady friend (Not girlfriend tho. She was Ukranian, too hehe) poured me a shot of it; only half, and i took one sip, and i practically fell of the floor, and almost past out!! Yea, that was the most powerful one ive had so far lol. Yep, saw stars lol. I guess it's because im not a drinker, really, and i guess that's why i felt queezy after it lol. Excellent write!

Very passionate, I had great images while reading it. Perfect! You are talented. One wants more from every thing... more and more... what is sin. I don't know. is there any. who said there is any, religion or our moral watcher... fantastic poem.
