Flame

Flame

A Poem by John Stussy
"

Gimme a break, I'm sleepy. :P

"

Grant me but a tiny flame

And I'll give the world what warmth I can.

Such a deed is possible with mortal man,

Divinity is not a requirement

To trying to make the whole world smile.

It's an infectious cure to anything,

A blazing fire of friendship.

All it takes is a tiny flame

To set aflame the waiting lips

Of the frowning and the downcast.

Grant me but a tiny flame

And I'll give the world what warmth I can.

Author's Note

John Stussy
It is what it is... and this writer sees it as the ramblings of a restless mind in an exhausted body. :P Anywho, this small piece is dedicated to the many people who helped me to smile, those who smile now, and those who will smile in the future.

It truly rings as a very sweet, caring poem with the perfect dash of image, emotion, flow, rhythm...it all melts together into a smooth image of something that could have been cliche and yet was different and well-crafted enough to not be. Well done, John. This touched me, as I'm sure it was meant to. Thank you.

This poem is a tribute to the young man who wishes to share his smile and his friendship whereever he goes. It is beautiful John, thank you for your smile, smiling back at you, Tai x

Your words stir thoughts and feelings of hope and healing for a world so devastated by darkness... Perhaps in your exhausted state your soul spoke this perfect piece... Hope we all catch a bit of the light!!!
