Paths

Paths

A Poem by John Stussy
"

It's a stereotypical poem of future decisions. :P Nothing special, just put in my own words.

"

If I choose this

What will happen with that?

The two paths

Branching before me

Are more complex

Than they seem,

For I know for fact

Each has its branches.

Also each has different

Qualities of completeness,

With possibilities of rainy skies

Thrown into the mix as well.

It’s a choice like any other,

This or that,

That or this.

Seemingly clean-cut.

But it isn’t that easy.

So I sit here on this stump

Wedged in the fork in the paths.

The sun is starting to go down,

Darkness coming soon.

The decision is rough,

With fog and corners

Obscuring the twists

I know are there.

This was good. It says everything that one feels when making big decisions in life. Though the choice seems bit easy - take this or take that - but it's not easy at all. Every path has it's own obstacles and it's branches may take you to your destination...or even away from it...
I really liked it!! Great Job!! You seem to be very good at writing....^_^

I loved it. Choosing when your at a fork in the road is always tough, you just have to make a choice and stick with it and know that you chose it for a reason. If you choose a path and live your life thinking "what if i chose the other" you wont ever be happy with your decision or your life for that matter. It wont be easy to find your path but know that in the end, you will know which path is right for you.

Great write :)

How well I know that path. Sometimes the path we take is unexpectedly pleasant. Well written.

It may be the "stereotypical paths poem" but it's written in a new light, a theme we can all relate to.
The paths alluded to could be marriage, school, career, religion, etc...
Each and every one of us has sat on that dam stump in the beating sun, because it's never in the shade, and have always been grateful for nightfall and the ensuing sleep.
Of course, once awake, we never remember why we took the path we did.
Well done.

All of us are going to be able to relate to this.

Its so difficult to make these choices in life.
I do what seems right to me AT THAT PARTICULAR MOMENT. But then I keep wondering--what if I had gone the other way...
That keeps me from enjoying the gifts of the present.

Nice write. Took me back to many instances from the past.
