Come And Write With Me

Come And Write With Me

A Poem by John Stussy

Come with me to a happier place,
Where we can write a story together.
Two friends in the middle of nowhere
Talking of ideas and various characters.
We’ll while away the hours making this world,
A story that is real in our minds alone.
The mysteries of hidden occults discovered,
Or the brave battles we can take part in.
We’ll be heroes together in our little worlds,
A place for friends to bond and create.

Shall we write of the passions of love?
Or perhaps the pain of the deepest of losses?
So may battles more than with simple swords
We can write together, you know, my friend.
Inspiring stories of personal experiences
Warped slightly to directions we wish for,
With this place for writing we can change our lives.
We can change the basis of our world.
Will you come with me on this journey,
Collaborate with me to write these tales?

The skies are not even the limit with what us two
Can do with the way we shape our words.
Please come with me to the writing place
And share thoughts and inspiration with me.
Help me to write a tale that will never be forgotten,
A story to stand the trials of time.
Let us work as a team of writers and create something new,
A piece of writing that could only be written
By several persons with this passion for words.
Write a story, a poem, a tale, a song, a limerick, a sonnet.

Come and write with me.

To all of my friends here on the cafe. I won't change the picture to this, the tree we share seems to fit it just right. :)

What you have captured (for me) here, John - is what I've tried to tell the people around me my whole life. I read and write because of the adventures - and wondrous things I get to experience - of which I probably won't. This piece is magic for me. Excellent job.

When I came I couldn't imagine a collaborative writing. I had no idea where to start. It seemed like an insurmountable task to combine my words with those of someone far away. I've since worked on different projects with amazing writers and friends. It has to be the most exciting thing I know. To blend, to share ideas and make them into one cohesive work. This is great.

SIGH! NOTE: Do you ever feel totally retarded when you have to edit your own review?!?!?! ~le sigh~

I love this!
You had me smiling, laughing, nodding my head from start to finish.
Quick question. "The mysteries of jidden occults discovered," is that supposed to be "hidden"? Just wanted to ask.
Speaking of which, occults huh? Can I join the one where we sacrifice the stupid and the insipid? ~wicked grin~ I always wanted an army of shrunken heads. ~grin~
Moving on though, yes, I loved this. You've expressed beautifully what drew me to this place and drew me to certain writers (like you!) so I could speak with them, "feel" with them, write with them and just BREATH. Yum. This is kind of like the home away from home for me.

Your style here is perfection hon. ~grin~ I don't usually do this, in fact there's only one other writing I ever did it for, but I give you a whopping 100. For making me feel, for making me thing and for making me smile.
Brava!
