Come And Write With Me

Inspired by my playlist for the contest Poem Off of Music.

 

Come with me to a happier place,

Where we can write a story together.

Two friends in the middle of nowhere

Talking of ideas and various characters.

We’ll while away the hours making this world,

A story that is real in our minds alone.

The mysteries of hidden occults discovered,

Or the brave battles we can take part in.

We’ll be heroes together in our little worlds,

A place for friends to bond and create.

 

Shall we write of the passions of love?

Or perhaps the pain of the deepest of losses?

So may battles more than with simple swords

We can write together, you know, my friend.

Inspiring stories of personal experiences

Warped slightly to directions we wish for,

With this place for writing we can change our lives.

We can change the basis of our world.

Will you come with me on this journey,

Collaborate with me to write these tales?

 

The skies are not even the limit with what us two

Can do with the way we shape our words.

Please come with me to the writing place

And share thoughts and inspiration with me.

Help me to write a tale that will never be forgotten,

A story to stand the trials of time.

Let us work as a team of writers and create something new,

A piece of writing that could only be written

By several persons with this passion for words.

Write a story, a poem, a tale, a song, a limerick, a sonnet.

You know, I like this not just because it is inspiring, but because there is an innocence to it as well, yet it's not CHILDISH. It really really conveys the sense of someone caught up in a flight of fancy begging his or her friend to come along for the ride and create a magical place. Fun! :)

Yes, this is a wonderful piece and I guess the first stanza is a reflection on the message I sent Nats when I asked if she wanted to write with me. The rest of the poem is whats happening now!
I have written with others as well (who wish to remain anonymous) Everyone has helped in the development of my writing and I hope I have given some ideas to them as well. I have always had the belief that a writing site should be for sharing and working together. I have met some very inspiring people on here that produce work I could never hope to emulate. Long may this continue and I'm hoping that Nats and I continue to produce work that is read and enjoyed by everyone here as well.
I know this review is not for self promotion. Let me add that I think you have written this perfectly and is a stunning read on the merits of joint writing/ teamwork on WC.
Incidentally, the poem is sort of tree shaped!
