A Poem by John Stussy
"

Less than negative.

"
-
Minus.
Take-away.
Negative.
The anti-production,
Stagnation and rot.
Worthless in value
But for detraction.
Ha, as if I'd revel
In destruction of others,
Subtraction of soul
And slaughter of joy.
But nature is
As nature does,
No way to change
The twist of fate.

<
Less than.
Inferior.
Pathetic.
The definition
Of any comparison
Of my existence
With all else.
Whatever the test,
I'm always found wanting.
Desperation?
No, desolation.
Better fitting
For a living lack.

< -

And now circumstance
Has brought up the chance
Of terminal failure.
The will gets erosion,
The soul gets corrosion,
Deserving abandonment
Of any brave savior.

What's the point of
Less than negative?

I don't think the universe would work without a few negative bits in the old atoms - and in us. And it is often from the negative that we find what we are looking for. You bring an ingeniously creative touch in how you capture that negative streak. Arguably all creativity is positive.
