A rather abrupt ending, but we were only allowed to have a certain number of lines.
We're doing a Holocaust unit in Language Arts, and we recently watched a movie called "One Survivor Remembers", about a woman named Gerda Weissmann who survived the Holocaust, but had nobody after it was over. We were assigned to do a blended poem, where you take one phrase that Gerda Weissmann said, and then write a phrase of your own, based on either:
-5 of your goals/dreams
-5 memories
-5 friends, or
-5 difficult times.
The poem starts with a phrase from Gerda, then me, and Gerda, etc. The bottom two lines are Gerda's, though.

Hopefully a better person than I used to be.
I don't write nearly as often as I should, but I'll try to post when I can.
UPDATE: A lot of this writing is now outdated. Proceed at your own risk.. more..
