PurpleA Poem by HollyColor poem written for English. Don't know how good it is or how well it actually reflects me so... Yeah, but any comments you have to make it better are appreciated.Purple is changing Never the same as right now Volatile as storm clouds on a summer’s day But more resilient than lone lilac in a wintery field Purple is poison in a witch’s glass Misguided into a beloved king’s wine
Purple is over analytical, yet searching for simplicity Never satisfied, but always working Trying for impossible heights Looking and looking and looking For anything that’s true Thrown in a world of falsity and lies
Purple just wants to be different But ends up just the same Almost pink in happiness Almost black in despair Purple is always almost But never all the way there
Purple is not the life of the party Yet not the one in the corner Knows how to have fun but also when to hold the horse’s reigns Never without friends but none would I call mine Distant as mountains on a horizon But closer than most realize Purple is sunset on a blood splattered field Silky velvet of a child’s favorite bear, Who is much too old to play with Beautiful at distance, yet grotesque close up Self-serving and deceptive
Purple is an inch of ice on a bottomless lake Filled with exotic aquatic life That no one will ever find The silhouette of a silent lone wolf Against the moon filled night
I hate purple and purple hates me Twined together by an intricate spiders web We’ll continue our dance for the rest of my life Filled with desire, a lust For something else Something endless Something real Though deep down we both know That it never was and never will Be ours to hold alone © 2011 Holly |
