Misplaced Love

Misplaced Love

A Poem by Olando Lucas

Before all the screaming and yelling, we use to love each other. But it is clear to see that love does not live here anymore. But I will always have a place for you somewhere in my heart and soul. It will be locked in a place, somewhere only the Lord will know.

Before we misplaced our love for each other, I use to envision the skies on this earth to always be blue, now as we look at each other the nights become more prevalent and the clouds are too heavy for the sun to ever again shine through.

Before I knew the real you, I fell in love with the fake you. Now I'm happy that I found peace even if the piece is not you. You will never understand the pain that you put me through. Only if I can turn back the hands of time, I would have never met you.

Before the beauties of my life ever enter this world, I moved on towards heaven, without you in my world. Then the tides pushed me back, only to be drowning in misery.

Now as I look for answers, I know that they are deep within me. I know it is time for you to find your own way, you are who you are, so spread your wings and fly away. I have done all I can do for you, only to be told I have not done anything at all for you.

So now that I see you are not grateful, for any blessing that I can offer you, I must say to you.  See you later, please live life well, always remember that the Lord is with you and if you believe you can accomplish all your dreams and he will guide you through your hardships if you bow to your knees. Please, let the hate in your heart go. Please, give me the freedom that my heart is owed, I have done all I could for you now let God blessings cover your soul. I am sorry that we parted ways so many years ago; I hope that you remember that I kept my part of the pact. I gave you a place to blossom but you gave me nothing back, so now let me live again, and then just maybe we can be both feel the release.  Let’s reach a place in life where we can live in amity.

All I know is the love left many years ago, our love is hidden in a place that neither one of us knows. I guess it is love that is misplaced, so I must say we seem to have misplaced our love a long time ago.
