My Pain Creates My Dreams

My Pain Creates My Dreams

A Poem by Olando Lucas

My Pain Creates My Dreams

I spend all my money, trying to make my days better. Now the days seem to be longer because my heart is weaker, and I have no idea how to make my mind much stronger.

To tell the truth, my pain is like the fires from hell, if not for my three angels where would I be. Would I be in jail serving life for my sins? Or would I be covered by the weight of the earth in the place in which I stand?

So I stress so that the pain will fade away. If I had bullets but no gun would I let my suffering become my fate? You can hate the man that I am, for the reasons that your mind partakes. I know that I am who I am as I take another pill, that helps me drift into the afterlife. Only to awaken to tears in my babies eyes.

The question that floats my way like” daddy what is wrong?” statements that say “daddy please do not die today.” Now I tuck away my pain, like an addict hides their addiction while walking the street in a daze and if I stood in front of God at this moment, on this second, what would I say? God can you send me back to earth for one more second, so I can tell everyone one what I always wanted to say.......
