the acquisitive

the acquisitive

A Poem by steph

people tend to think that we're made of numbers, that numbers define us.

like percentages on tests.

pounds on a scale.

likes on a picture.

price tags on clothes.

numbers on paychecks.

but we're not. we're much more than that. we're made of happiness and good memories. we were meant to live a life that makes us happy with people who make us happy. we were meant to make other people happy. we were meant to be the light in a dark room, when there was no light in a dark room. we were meant to make a difference, to make a change. and it's okay to like and want expensive things. but don't ever let those numbers define you. we have more substance than numbers. numbers don't define us. they never have, and they never will.
