Remembering You

Remembering You

A Poem by Leah

The pain was gone,
Your death in the past.
My heart had healed,
But this did not last.

I can’t run from this,
Feeling inside.
No matter how hard I try,
I cannot hide.

Your shining face,
Above my hair.
In a cloud,
I see you there.

A little boy,
In a field.
Dashing by,
With a Shield.

I see your smile,
Upon his face.
As he runs fast,
Life is a race.

Out of sight,
Out of mind.
Sometimes I feel,
That I am fine.

Random moments,
Bring you back.
You are still,
Part of the pack.

I love you still,
Forever more.
I’ll think of you,
‘Till I pass Death’s door.
