You Won't Know

You Won't Know

A Poem by Stephanie

We go slow at first
Just to read each other a bit
You let me in as I penetrate without you ever knowing
I swear you will never know
For the light I see in you was everything
Everything I could lie awake for
Everything I could lose myself for
I swear you will never know
Please use me for whatever you see fit
My lungs are yours to keep
I have no excuse if this is what I have to do
This must be the part you had to have missed
What did you read that day?
Did you ever think that you would be this blessed?
I swear you will never know
You are the story that will forever be untold
Let your beauty unfold
You are the life beneath my skin
Now stand trial for your sins
You are the air that I breathe
You are the sheathe that I keep
You are the words that aren't spoke
You are second hand smoke
You bind me with chains
You are the blood in my veins
I swear you will never know

Author's Note

Stephanie
This is another piece of work inspired by Brand New. It describes a forbidden love, someone loving someone more than they can express. They love them so much that they begin to despise them for not knowing or returning their true feelings. The third line is not about a physical rape, but more of an emotional and personal rape. Getting close to someone only to try and manipulate them into making them love you, and making them think they are lucky to have you.

Despite the sincere love that appears to be in every line, this is written with a sinister intent. A manipulation....an emotional "rape"
