Gabriel’s Promise

You conjure up the heat of Hades

and control the dragon’s breath,

and would put mankind to the torch,

if not for the certainty of my un-scabbard sword

scything through the fugue of your dark desires.

I will stand foursquare before you,

my honour my shield,

and I will smite your evil hand

that it may cause no further harm.

I will hold back the darkest storm clouds

you send to destroy the world’s hope,

I will cut down all of Satan’s sons

until man’s sins are purged.

Then, I will seal closed the gates of Hell forever

and return the purity of Eden to the Earth.
