Lies Exposed

I have seen zombies rise from the dead

and the Mummy return

time and time again.

And on each occasion they

renew the horror

they have wrecked

upon the good peoples of this Earth;

just as you have done.

Yet you feign a plea for forgiveness

for all the evil you

and you alone unleashed

in a plague of putrid hate.

You dragged the innocent into the fires of hell

yet claim yourself an angel of God.

You portray yourself a man of great mercy,

a man of immense fortitude and graciousness,

everybody’s friend.

Yet behind the mask

a terrible scar etched in time

is carved upon your dark foreboding soul.

Behind your devil’s smoke screen

you are still but the serpent.

i can feel the hatred and discontent interlaced between the syllables of this piece! i really like the beginning as we get a great picture of who this person is before you dive into some larger images. good work!

That is true Mark and when the bruises fade that will be possible. There are bodies still lying freshly slain in the field.

Will you please explain the meaning of this to me? I am confused as you speak of an angel of God, and then a man, and a friend........so, is this about a fallen angel/demon, or a man? Are you implying a man is a devil, as I don't know of any man who is evil enough to be placed in the same category as the devil?
Interpretation please? As far as the structure of your poem, it is well penned.

When men carry out wicked deeds they become in the eyes of their victims and the survivors metaphorical Satans. Thank you Sheila. The world is littered with such deeds from The warmongers to the slayers of the innocent such as the Boston bombers.
