Keep smiling...

Fourfold haiku-form rhyming verse about the ability of mankind to smile as we lie to ourselves en masse...

Can we smile for years
midst the flooding un-shed fears,
hide the truth of tears ?

Can  inanity
be fully revealed as we
smile on 'to be free' ?

Is not deep  sadness
inherent when we confess
the hidden darkness?

... or just what we say
with a smile on, come what may,
for 'love knows the way' ?
