For LynnA Poem by ShaunaThe green-eyed girls Crying emeralds all over Drip dropping peridots Down the staircase
One's begging "Please don't look You mustn't see Me weeping secret shades of green"
But sun peeks mosses creep And you stare and stare and stare Scrambling with meager hands To steal what color that you can
One's laughing now "You're a fool To stow our fallen jewels They'll all wither in your pocket"
But certain you've gathered Each seaglass teardroplet Stuffed with jades and beaded strings You'll hardly hear them whispering
"They're not enough Those bits you keep I know you won't remember me."
