Hungry December

Hungry December

A Poem by Shauna

December wants to suck your blood

Wonderland will eat your young

Christmas fangs

Chewing up your rose-colored things

He'll bleach the yellowed teeth

Sip the blush from virgin cheeks

Howling at the moon

Biting into tender Junes

All but evergreen

Devoured by his pale terrain

And swallowed whole

By the chromophobic mouthful

You'll put your eyes out

To turn his diamonds to rubies
