Who To Trust?A Story by StormyDixiethis is a very short story
“Who to Trust”
“Amber,” Angel whispered, “can you walk with me to band? I have to tell you something.” Brunette haired, brown eyed Angel was Amber’s best friend, and she always had to tell Amber something. Amber nodded her head and continued working on her class work. The bell rang to go to 3rd period, and the dirty-blonde haired Amber hurried after Angel. “Angel, what were you going to tell me?” Amber questioned. “Is there something important to tell?” “Oh,” Angel replied, “I almost forgot. Jake kissed me yesterday!” “I’m so happy for you Angel!” Amber squealed. Angel went to all of her friends telling them her exciting news.
“Angel, wait up! I have to tell you something.” Amber said. Angel was stuttered by Amber’s sharp, worried, tone. “Angel, someone told me something about Jake.” Amber muttered. Angel, stunned by Amber’s words, stopped dead in her tracks. “Do you remember that kid on your bus, Alex I think? He’s one of Jake’s friends.” Amber said. Angel nodded her head slowly. “Well, Alex said that Jake told him that Jake wasn’t going out with you because he likes you. It’s because he wanted a “title” and that he doesn’t truly love you.” Amber said worriedly. “Let me get this straight,” Angel said slowly, “Jake’s just using me?” “It sounds like it, I’m sorry Angel.” Amber said sadly. That day Angel went up to Jake to ask if what Amber said was true. “Now Angel,” Jake said firmly, “I never said that, and Alex is just making up stuff because he’s jealous. I’m not like that, and you know it.” Angel walks away and goes to class while mumbling, “Who do I trust? My best friend, or Jake?” © 2012 StormyDixie |
