Evil Ones

Evil Ones

A Poem by StormeLight

Oh how arrogant

Evil becomes

In the midst of humanity

Oh! How lonesome it is!

To see it as a weakness

Triumphs of the human spirit!

Lasting longer than hate can endure

Yet,

Those who are evil

Can never secure the lure,

In our time,

We never thought we'd see

A collective shared experience,

Begging us to be

Everything we could become

Our fear is at the door

Banging down!

Hear the sound!

Banging down your door!

"Hello again, I am Fear, your old friend,"

"Will you welcome me, once more?"

Those who are evil will cower

When their arrogance runs dry

Because arrogance

Never was confidence

Blinded by what they can see

Only what they can see

Souls that miss the face of faith

And the courage to feel beyond

What eyes and minds can behold,

Grasping on to something colorless

Yet brighter than the sun

It is called hope, Evil Ones,

That is why we have won

The harder and harder you try

To fight the human capacity,

To find mistakes,

In something called Empathy

The more and more you will sink

Because arrogance

Never was confidence

Your hearts,

They can't speak,

that is why this black void

This hole you have inside of you,

That is why you fill it,

With everything you can see

Missing every beautiful part of life

The very essence of human spirit
