RedirectionA Poem by StormeLight
So many years in tears
Over so many closed doors Slamming in my face Feeling completely disgraced Why am I even here? My purpose is not even clear Drowning in all the ever-present fear Clutching my heart so tight Afraid to let anyone near it I never closed off No matter how much I wanted to I kept myself open So fear wouldn't control my life I can't describe the love I feel now For the girl who never let anyone change her For new eyes to see every road block Leading into a better direction I am who I was always meant to be Even if everything tried to kill me We are all one of a kind We all have something that makes us fight Something we won't compromise For me its my voice My freedom to speak For all the days someone said to me I don't want to hear you Keep the truth to yourself Stop stirring things up Stop making a scene Stop showing me how I hurt you Stop showing me you care Stop telling us we can change Stop showing us the way Well I won't listen to you Because my heart is raw with love A kind of love that feels bitter To everyone who feels asleep The only kind of love that saves The kind of loves that's brave So maybe you are at that closed door Maybe you're wondering What the hell is all this suffering for? You're at the fork in the road Travel the road unknown Feel the winds change Feel the redirection Of a soul that's lost their way Leading to a hope so strong It leaves a heart forever changed © 2021 StormeLightReviews
