Rain

Rain

A Poem by StormeLight

Born out of pain

Tilting my head up

Embracing the rain

I traipse alone on the wet pavement

Glancing all around me

The only one around

Peaceful in my solitude

Enjoying the places everyone shelters from

The raindrops falling on my face

Opening and closing my eyes

To drink up the entire aesthetic

So incredibly poetic

The melancholy is indulgent

Deep growth lies inside of it

I won't be made to fear the cold

It's a strange sense of home

An aroma fills my senses

Amazed at how intense this is

I can smell the wet leaves

The wet trees and the dew on the grass

A beauty everlasting in my soul

A memory attached to discovery

Going deeper, deeper within

I wonder why I was ever so afraid

To embrace this beautiful thing called pain

Suddenly reminded ever so clear

The contrasted catalyst so precious, so dear

A beautiful solitude of strength

A lotus flower grown from the mud
