Breaking Out

Breaking Out

A Poem by StormeLight

I had to break out

Of the shell

Of what people always knew me as

To find my true self

Now I am walking this path

Full of anger, loneliness, and wrath

I am healing

I am feeling

Everything I was always running from

It's nitty, it's gritty, it's excruciating

I wait and I surrender to the storm

My breath abating

Just waiting

Just breathing

I don't need to be saved

If I don't face this

I will walk to my grave
