your prayer beads

your prayer beads

A Poem by stork
"

A tanka

"

your prayer beads – a tanka

the old monk
hands me your prayer beads
"she won't need this," he says

I look at your silent lips

and wonder what use have I?

At first I thought that 'stork' was a last syllable for the poem, and I wondered if I misremembered what a tanka was.
