AcceptedA Story by Sara R.A 100-word story for Friday FictioneersMaybe we were too hard on little Nelson, always leaving him behind or teasing him about his crooked knees. We often forced him to give us his toys or candy. He’d do anything to be accepted. “Nelson, hop the fence and steal that mallet.” Nelson’s nervous fingers clutched the wooden fence as he flung himself over, dropping to the ground with a thud. We laughed. He brushed himself off and stood up taller than ever before. Determined, Nelson marched over to the overused mallet next to the circus tent. Without looking back, Nelson entered the tent and never returned. © 2014 Sara R.Author's Note
